In 1980, Amy was joining me in New Orleans where I had been transferred. Enroute, she spent the night in Shreveport to show off Betsy to her great-grandmother. I have tried to imagine the emotion that Mildred Akin must have felt as she saw Betsy. Amy told me that my Grandmother was enchanted with Betsy's theatrics. She was three and loved to play 'Cinderella' by dropping a glass slipper before running to hide from the 'prince'.

Also sitting at the table were A.G. and his son, Jeff.
