Lyda Akin was the older sister of my grandfather, Alexander Gaines. She was the second oldest of the seven children of Gaines Akin and Katherine Stevens. Lyda was born on October 17, 1881 and died on September 14, 1975. She was laid to rest in Scottsville, Texas.
