Betsy's Newspaper Columns

Betsy Allyn Veach Swenson, aside from being my favorite daughter and one of the great joys in my life, is a writer and publishes a weekly column in the local newspaper where she worked full-time in her pre-motherhood years.  As you can imagine, when it comes to critiquing her work, I am not an objective literary critic.  She is smart, insightful, witty, and funny.  If you have read and enjoyed Erma Bombeck or Judith Martin (Miss Manners), you will probably find Betsy's work to be highly entertaining.  She has a way of describing the everyday life experiences of a young mother in a very enlightening, touching and often irreverant way.

Betsy, I love, admire and learn from you.  The student has become the teacher.  Anyone would want you as a mother.

Please read and enjoy these columns.  Should you have a relative that is a Random House executive, feel free to forward this work to their attention.

Scott If you read only one of Betsy's columns, please make it this one.
